The La Brea Tar Pits is an active research site in Los Angeles. Tar has seeped up from the ground for tens of thousands of years. Over many thousands of years the tar has persevered the bones of the trapped animals. The museum is dedicated to studying and researching the animals that have been found there:

I had never heard of this until I started watching the TV show of the same name. I found it interesting the creators based it from a real place. I knew it was a research site but didn't know there is a museum. I want to see it if I'm ever there again. Thanks.ReplyDelete
