The Jim Irsay Collection

Jim Irsay is the owner of the Indianapolis Colts and a collector of American history. He also has a passion for music and American culture. He has been putting some of his collection on display for people to see. It is a traveling show called the Jim Irsay Collection and it made its way to San Francisco.

There were some items from American History:

A stay of execution letter from President Lincoln

A letter from Thomas Jefferson to Thomas Paine

A George Washington letter from 1780

Hunter S. Thompson's 1973 Chevy Caprice

John F. Kennedy's Rocking Chair

Muhammad Ali's 1970's Championship Belt

And some musical instruments:

Jerry Garcia's famous "Tiger" guitar

Prince's 1995 Yellow Guitar

Ringo Starr's first Ludwig Drumkit-1963

John Lennon's Sgt. Pepper Piano

And some other pieces of music history

A "Day the Music Died" Poster

Where Bob Dylan first went electric

Paul McCartney "Hey Jude" studio lyrics

I forgot to mention that there was a concert also:

Jim Irsay doing a little singing

Irsay with NFL Hall of Famer and ex-Colts player Edgerrin James

And the following pics, I had to take from the video board since I was far away of the special guests who came and played:

Guitar Legend Buddy Guy

Bassist Mike Mills from R.E.M

Ann Wilson from Heart

It was a great time and the price was right as it was free. So very cool.
