Angel Island is the largest natural island in the San Francisco Bay. From 1910 until 1940 it was the Ellis Island of the West as it processed hundreds of thousands of immigrants and beginning with the Civil War, it was an Army processing center. In the 60's when the Army left, it became a California State Park:

The main immigrant processing center |
The Quartermasters Building |
The Army Hospital |
The Commanding Officers house |
The Bake House |
And it is a great place to hike:
Angel Island is an amazing place with a lot of American history and I was glad that I got to learn some more about it.
The army hospital looks special there
