Monterey's Old Fisherman's Wharf

While in Monterey (and since I got lost looking for the famous Cannery Row), we visited Old Fisherman's Wharf. It is a nice collection of restaurants, tourist shops and nice views:

A look down Old Fisherman's Wharf
Polished rocks
An Oreo apple
This is the biggest sucker I have ever seen
An old rowboat
Some stuff seals in a shop
The view from the place we chose to eat
Someone trying to capture the views
\Fresh crab
And who would you trust, the top or the bottom:

The Work of LeRoy Neiman

I got to spend some time at  Franklin Bowles Galleries in San Francisco. They have been down the San Francisco Marina  for most of my life. I finally walked in there to see their great collection of LeRoy Neiman works. I have been a huge fan of his since I was young after they profiled him on shows like "This is the NFL" and "The Superstars", if there was a big sports event-he was there. He did more than sports, he did a lot of his early work with Playboy and other publications. Anyway, I asked if I could take some pics of the work and to my great surprise they said yes. I was super stoked:

Medinah-Serigraph
Joe Dimaggio-Serigraph
Nolan Ryan-Serigraph
Mickey Mantle-Serigraph
Joe Montana-Original
Lincoln Center 04-Original
Larry Bird-Original
Duane Thomas. This was done on the sidelines of Super Bowl VI-original
Bar Yanagi Tokyo-Original
Jason Moran, Summer Stage Central Park-Original
It was super cool to take photos and see these works. Another thing is that they are for sale at Franklin Bowles for the tidy sum. Who knows if I save for 10 years I might be able to buy one. Goals are a good thing to have.

The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory

In Monterey, we made a stop to take a look at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate factory. It all looked good but we had just had something to eat, so all we did was look:

Inside the store
Chocolate covered strawberries
Peanut Butter Seashells
Dipped Apricots
Oreo apples with a gummy worm
Caramel apples with  M&M's
On second thought, I should have bought something as it does look so yummy. Guess I will have to make another trip down there-lol.

The Monterey Marina and Some of the Monterey Coast

I was down in Monterey visiting CSU-Monterey Bay with my daughter and we decided to head over to Cannery Row, but got lost and ended up at the Monterey Marina which was a treat. Less people and it was still beautiful:

It took me a while to get this guy but I am glad I waited

And driving out of Monterey, we stopped and took some pics:

Loved this art on the seawall

The Pacific Ocean
Monterey is one of the most beautiful places in the world.
