A Visit to USS Turner Joy (DD 951)

Still finding pictures of the Seattle trip in early April. Hopefully, I will get both Seattle and Charlotte out of my system before heading to Las Vegas during Thanksgiving week. Today is Veteran's Day. It is special to me because I served in the United States Navy from 1990 to 1994. I was on the USS Kidd (DDG-993) and the USS Truxtun (CGN-35). I have no hero stories, I was a Yeoman Third Class and was Desert Storm in 1991 onboard KIDD I typed my way through that and another six-month deployment onboard Truxtun. Nothing big.

Anyway, don't want to bore you with my sea stories, when I was in Seattle I took a trip over to Bremerton (where I was stationed for two years) and they have the USS Turner Joy (DD-951) docked there as a museum. USS Turner Joy began her service in 1960 and was retired in 1982:

To all those who have served and serving now, a BIG THANK YOU for your service,
