Early Morning in the City

September and October are the best months for weather in the San Francisco Bay Area. In the morning after I get off BART (our subway) and waiting for the bus to take me to work, I decided to try my hand at some artistic photos of the Powell St. area in the early morning between 6:15 and 6:30 am:

The early morning is so very peaceful and beautiful and who knows I might head to another section of downtown San Francisco and take some more photos.

  1. Beautiful morning shots! It's interesting, I live here but rarely go out to walk that early in the morning.

September and October are my favorite times in the city, too.

  4. WOW! Those are great shots! Kind of look likes our downtown Chicago. It's about 49 miles away from me & I only know that because I worked downtown for about 15 or 20 yrs. OUCH! It was on Wacker Driver & Randolph St. I took the train down there. I retired when my boss did you might say, but he moved to Arizona & I stayed here by my Fox River. Have a great night my friend & sorry I'm so late. Hope you get a chance to stop by!

  5. Patrick,

Early mornings in a city are almost spooky without the traffic and people making travels chaotic. I remember last year while most folks were still at home for the most part, we had to be out for an early morning appointment I kept thinking when was the last time I ever saw the 441 nearly deserted? The answer, I couldn't remember such a time. It felt so weird! Interesting scenes of the city before it comes to life for the day. :) Have a fototastic week, my friend.

  10. You captured the dawn beauty of the majestic and the mundane. I just love the early morning light. On my usual wetlands walk I get out very early and time my route to allow me to stand on a peninsula in the lake and watch the Sun rise. No two mornings are ever the same.
