Fashioning San Francisco

At the deYoung Museum in San Francisco they have an exhibit going on called "Fashioning San Francisco", it is a look of women's high fashion in the city over the years. (I included the year the dress was from and the designer):

1924 Jeanne Lanum

1921 Lady Duff Gordon

1926- Louise Boulanger

1955- Yves Saint Laurent

1947- Christian Dior

2003- Oscar De La Renta

1991 Gianfranco Ferre

2013- Vivienne Westwood

2010- Alexander McQueen

1987- Kaisik Wong

1961- Chanel

1990-John Galliano

1983- Roberto Capucci

1977- Yves Saint Laurent

I am not one who knows anything about high fashion but I enjoyed this exhibit and learning about all the different designers and avant-garde fashion.

  1. ...the 1947- Christian Dior is classic.

  2. These are stunning - esp the 20's outfits. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing with #Allseasons

  3. Love these. I really need to get to that exhibit!
Hope you are having a great week!

  4. Some I like, some I love and some I don't care for. I would have loved to see this in person.

Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ☺

  5. I have to agree with Sandee. Isn't it interesting how tastes and fashions change?
    Thanks for sharing at

  6. They don't make clothes like those any more. What a lovely collection.

  7. What an interesting display! These are stunning. Thank you for sharing this post at the Will Blog for Comments #33 linkup this week! Have a wonderful weekend. Hope to see you at #34 sharing more lovely posts. :)

  8. Thanks so much for participating and sharing at SSPS 305. See you again next week at

  9. Some beautiful clothes there, although if I were a woman I'd hate to wear some of them - they may look good but must be so uncomfortable to lug around! Thanks for taking part in the "My Sunday Best" meme.

  10. It does seem like fun to view how ladies dressed through the years. A bit out of my league, but you photographed it well.

  11. Beautiful outfits and interesting to see the changes in fashion over the years. Thank you for your weekend coffee share.

  12. Oh my gosh! I am in love with all these gorgeous dresses!

  13. I like the very first one, 1924. I'd wear that today! Very neat. Thanks for sharing with us. I'm not able to get to San Fran right at this time.
    Take care and best wishes.

  14. What gorgeous dresses! My favorite would be the Louise Boulanger. Thanks so much for linking up with us!

  15. I love all the dresses. What a great exhibit. I'll be featuring your post tomorrow at The Crazy Little Lovebirds link party #34.

Love hearing comments on stuff. Please tell me what you think of the places I have been to. If you like them or not. I love comments.
