At the deYoung Museum in San Francisco they have an exhibit going on called "Fashioning San Francisco", it is a look of women's high fashion in the city over the years. (I included the year the dress was from and the designer):
1924 Jeanne Lanum |
1921 Lady Duff Gordon |
1926- Louise Boulanger |
1955- Yves Saint Laurent |
1947- Christian Dior |
2003- Oscar De La Renta |
1991 Gianfranco Ferre |
2013- Vivienne Westwood |
2010- Alexander McQueen |
1987- Kaisik Wong |
1961- Chanel |
1990-John Galliano |
1983- Roberto Capucci |
1977- Yves Saint Laurent |
I am not one who knows anything about high fashion but I enjoyed this exhibit and learning about all the different designers and avant-garde fashion.
...the 1947- Christian Dior is classic.

ReplyDeleteSome beautiful clothes there, although if I were a woman I'd hate to wear some of them - they may look good but must be so uncomfortable to lug around! Thanks for taking part in the "My Sunday Best" meme.
ReplyDeleteIt does seem like fun to view how ladies dressed through the years. A bit out of my league, but you photographed it well.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful outfits and interesting to see the changes in fashion over the years. Thank you for your weekend coffee share.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I am in love with all these gorgeous dresses!
ReplyDeleteI like the very first one, 1924. I'd wear that today! Very neat. Thanks for sharing with us. I'm not able to get to San Fran right at this time.
ReplyDeleteTake care and best wishes.
What gorgeous dresses! My favorite would be the Louise Boulanger. Thanks so much for linking up with us!
