Welcome to Petco Park I

I went to San Diego for the San Diego Padres FanFest. I am not a Padres Fan but I wanted to see Petco Park. I was not disappointed. I live near and have gone to what is considered the best park in Major League Baseball-AT&T Park in San Francisco. I will say this Petco Park tops this. I was lucky enough to wonder around this great ballpark and snapped a lot of pics. This will be a two part blog as Part I will deal with the sightlines and the stadium, Part II (Friday) will deal with all the unique things that make Petco very special:

Here are two things that have to with the Park itself that makes it special:

A sandbox to play in near the left field fence
This building was abandoned by the company above and it was integrated into the park
Petco is a place that needs to seen in person. It is a beautiful place and whoever designed this place got it so right.

  5. Thank you for your interest for my MakroTex-linky. Notice that we have a theme for each week! I'll delete the links that have nothing to do with current theme! You can share regular photos for theme too if you don't want to take macro photos. This week's theme was TEXTILE. ;)

  16. The first thing I thought of was the pet store. lol I love how they integrated the old building in with the park, as well as the sandbox. Your photo with the city in the background may be my favorite shot. Nice job!

  21. Thanks for sharing! This is actually the first Baseball season I will follow since I've moved here. My team is the Giants though ;)
    It makes sense:
My football Team -> SD Chargers
    a little up north is:
My basketball team: The Lakers (I know..... don't even ask about this season)
and another little bit up north:
    My baseball team.
Ha. Cali all the way. I hope in 2016 we will finally move there!

    Have a lovely week!
