I got the chance to visit the Phoebe A. Hearst Museum of Anthropology on the campus of the University of California the other day and it was filled with a lot of great artifacts that tells us who we are:
19th century Kwakiutl House Post |
Silk Dragon Robe - Qing Dynasty-China |
Pot -Southern Peru- 100BC-800 AD |
Wine Cup-Greece 525 BC-50 BC |
Obsidian Arrowheads-early 20th century. These arrowheads were made by "Ishi"-He was the last known member of the Yahi Tribe in California |
Marble panels from the Guandi Temple in China carved during the reign of the Emperor Qianiang (1735-1796) |
Vessel-Peru 100 BC-800 AD |
Sarcophagus lid of Psamtik I. The first of the three kings of the 26th Dynasty of Egypt-600 BC |
I'd love to see this. As a pre-teen, I wanted to be an archeologist.
