Just some things I saw riding Amtrak from Oakland to Reno. Loved going through the Sierra Mountains:
And I found these photos of the Truckee River that I took with my tablet going to Reno:
Loved this bridge |
The Amtrak train ride from Oakland to Reno and back is something that is worth the price. It was so beautiful and relaxing.
Train travel is a great way to go. Looks like you saw some lovely scenery on your trip.
ReplyDeleteI saw your link at the Party in your PJs link up. These are some great photos of beautiful scenery. We've done that drive but not the Amtrak. Good idea. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it was an enjoyable and very scenic journey Patrick - certainly a very pleasant way to while away a few hours. #MLSTL
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. I like the bridge. My husband has been bike riding like crazy, but it drives me nuts - he doesn't take any photos. I'd love to ride on a train again. One of my favorite trips was when we went on a train from Omaha to Chicago.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful captures. Use to be fun when it was normal to take a train places. We no longer have passenger trains that I know of around me.
ReplyDeleteMore beautiful scenes. I would like to do this train ride one day.
ReplyDeleteI love train rides. It looks very much like the scenery in my area!
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Train journeys always give the most wonderful views of the countryside!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos! I really want to ride the California Zephyr from Chicago to Cali some day... That would be such a cool way to see the country!

I love traveling by train! My kids and I moved from Montana to Florida via train, almost 16 years ago. In actuality, I think I prefer train travel over flying. :) Lovely photos. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletePatrick,
ReplyDeleteI would love to see the Sierra Mountains...would love to visit out west someday! Stay safe and be well, my friend. Thanks for visiting.
It is indeed a beautiful trip to make. By car too. I would bet it's even better on Amtrak.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous rest of the week, Patrick. 😎
Stunning what a beautiful place #MLSTL
ReplyDeleteI love riding in a train - always have. Something hypnotic about its motion. Plus you have the opportunity to see back yards and other sights often hidden from public view.

It's always fun to travel by train where you see things differently than in the car. Such serene countryside!
ReplyDeleteYour link is a wonderful addition to 'My Corner of the World'!! Thanks for being here this week. A link back would be great :)
What a beautiful landscape! I have never traveled very far by train. I bet it is an amazing experience. Thanks for linking up!
