A Walk Along San Francisco's Embarcadero

The other day, my son asked me to walk from the Ferry Building in San Francisco to Pier 39. It is about a 30 minute walk and I am so glad he wanted to. What a great walk and sites that we saw:

The clock tower at the Ferry Building
The San Francisco Belle
The San Francisco hands-on museum The Exploratorium moved down there about a year or so ago and they have some nice exhibits outside:

And the Alcatraz ferry is there also. They have have some nice stuff to look at as you are waiting for the ferry there:

A scale of "The Rock"
A replica cannon from when it belonged to the Army
In all it was a great walk:

A great place to hang and get a bite to eat

The Bay
A street artist doing his thing
The sculpture "Skygate"
People walking along the Embarcadero

  8. Looks like a nice way to spend the afternoon, and if you're like us then the exercise didn't hurt any. We love finding opportunities to take walks when we're out on the go. It's definitely nice to slow down a bit and soak up our surroundings. Happy WW!

  9. Yay! I'm so glad that you shared this. I used to work at the Embarcadero but that fabulous museum was not there. Man. there is nothing like SF sky.

    1. No, there is not the sky is great.

They have really moved things around the Embarcadero and everything. They are building a new cruise ship port and other things. And putting the museum down there was perfect.
