Music Monday: Trying to Do a Crossover

Music Monday: For this Music Monday, I am going to try to play some songs that are what are called "Crossover Songs", which are musical works or performers who appeal to different types of audiences. In the United States, it more defined by appearing on two or more of the record charts that track differing musical styles or genres. Here it goes:

From Latin/Tejano to Numner #1 on the Pop Charts:

From Metal to Number #1 on the Pop Charts:

From a collaboration between pop (Freddie Mercury) and a Soprano Montserrat Caballe:

From purely Christian to Number 1 on the Pop Charts:

From Pop to Country:

Hope you enjoyed this attempt to crossover and have a wonderful Monday.

  2. Patrick,

Selena's song and the duet between Freddie Mercury & Montserrat Caballe were new-to-me. I enjoyed the introduction very much. All of you other picks I knew quite well each flashing me back to various points throughout my life. I remember the stir Amy Grant's crossover caused. :) Thanks for sharing in the fun with the 4M gang today, my friend!

  4. I never considered Pink Floyd metal but rather art rock. They started as a psychedelic band with Syd Barrett. Good choices.
