I went to the San Leandro Cherry Festival. A long time ago, San Leandro, Ca was a haven for cherry trees and the production of cherries. A 109-years ago, San Leandro was dubbed the "Cherry City" because of the cherry production. Even though most of the cherry trees are long gone, the city still celebrates being the "Cherry City" with food, music and fun:
And there was music:
And maybe a thing or two made from cherries:

And if you wanted to make your own cherry stuff, they were cherries to be bought:
The San Leandro Cherry Festival was as always a wonderful time to spend a day.
Quite a spread Patrick. That apple cherry cider looks inspired. I love cherries so the mix with apple in cider form feels like it'd be so refreshing.
ReplyDeleteHere comes the season for food festival and street fairs. Yay!

ReplyDeleteI love cherries, Patrick and what a colourful festival. Thanks for sharing at Midlife Share the Love Party and have a great week! #MLSTL
ReplyDeleteThe festival looked like a lot of fun. Good for San Leandro for honoring its once-upon-a-time famous crop. I wonder if cherries are ready in our area.
ReplyDeleteI personally would be right by the last picture all day! I LOVE CHERRIES! YUMMMMMMMMM Love cherry ice cream too! ~hehehe~
ReplyDeleteYum, I love cherries. When I lived in Michigan we often went to the cherry festival in Traverse City. Cherry everything there!
ReplyDeleteOoh, cherries! We took the kids cherry-picking one summer in Kelowna (Canada) and they still talk about it to this day about how fun it was and how yummy the different cherries were. :)
ReplyDeleteYum, this looks fun. I use to live in the BC Okanagan and pick cherries fresh off the trees. Such a good time.
ReplyDeleteWOW I love cherries! how delicious :)
ReplyDeleteHow fun. I would love to experience that. I too love cherries.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day. ☺
Patrick,
ReplyDeleteMmm, looks so yummy! I'm not really a huge cherry fan but DH is a cherry lover. That ice cream looks good and I bet ya DH would like it, too. I didn't see any cherry pie. That's one thing DH would definitely get at a cherry festival. :) Thanks for visiting and joining my #WW linky party. Have a great week/weekend, my friend!
Summer festivals are the best!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great festival. Love the look of all the cheery flavoured foods :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up to The Wednesday Blog Hop. Hope you can join me tomorrow.
It always feels a tad strange to know that as we're in ugg boot weather you're celebrating summer. This festival looks like one I'd love - cherry ice cream yum! #teamlovinlife
ReplyDeleteWhat a great festival! I love the painted bus and the other art - not sure if it's a wall?
ReplyDeleteI actually had no idea cherries could be made into salsa and the like! #teamlovinlife
Sounds like a fun place to be, and all that food looks delicious (including the cherries).

Cherries, music and grilled food sound like a winning combination to me. We have lots of cherry festivals here in Michigan and unfortunately it's been years since I've been to one. Thanks for joining us again at Celebrate Your Story, have a great weekend.
