The Last of the Summer Waves at Carmel Beach

I went to Carmel Beach a couple of weeks ago to see the waves one more time on a clear, sunny day before the weather changes and the clouds and rain:

I can still go the beach on the non gloomy days but it will be a different experience as it will be colder and I will all bundled up. Going out and looking at the waves has really helped my state of mind during this COVID deal. It has brought me a lot of peace of mind and kept me from going really stir-crazy.

  1. That's very nice. Makes me wish I were closer to the coast, I grew up with the old Northern CA ones! I guess the cold Oregon ones are pretty much the same though. I just need to go. I love how I see mask wearing in the photo.

  5. The few times I have visited the ocean, I can see the relaxing comfort of the waves low or high rolling in. Saw the beach during a storm south of San Francisco once and that was fantastic!

  10. I always find moving water so therapeutic, especially waves and waterfalls - water tumbling over rocks. Your waves are so lively, they are lovely.

  13. Waves can be so hypnotic. And the energy of the water is amazing. A very good COVID distraction.

  15. Beautiful photos, Patrick. And I agree that the ocean waves have such a wonderful calming and soothing effect. I literally have not seen the ocean in probably close to 20 years. I prefer when it is colder though! Thanks for sharing and linking with me.

  16. There is definitely something about being near the ocean, with the waves crashing into the shore, or lapping in delicately. The breeze mussing the hair, the seagulls calling out. The sun sparkling on the water.

    Thanks for sharing your photos!
