I decided to visit the State Capitol Building of California in Sacramento. I have never been there. It was completed in 1874 and redone in 1970's. It is an interesting building:

I've never been to California let alone the State Capitol. Looks very neat. Still can't believe that Arnold Schwarzenegger held office as Governor! Thanks for linking up over at Toronto Teacher Mom!
ReplyDeleteReally lovely photos. A lot of historical figurines that you saw on your trip
ReplyDeleteAmazing tour! As always its like I am there. My fave is the ceiling. I always love ceilings especially the one with intricate designs.
ReplyDeleteThe workmanship of this historic buildings is really quite impressive. You just don't see things like that in our modern day. Thanks for joining us on Oh My Heartsie Girl Wordless Wednesday!

ReplyDeleteThe dome in the rotunda is just lovely!
ReplyDelete[ Smiles ] I love the things that you photographed in California!
ReplyDeleteI have been there before. It is beautiful. Thanks for linking up at the Talbert Zoo. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteWow! Jerry Brown with hair. I remember him being governor when I was in Jr. high, and the slogan to get him out of office: "If it's brown, flush it!" I remember the young college girls giving these out in front of our Vons store near Los Angeles.
ReplyDeleteOn a more serious side. I am a bit ashamed of myself for never having properly visited our state capital. I've been through it a few times, but it was always just passing through to get to Oregon or British Columbia. A lot of good history at the Capital.
I think rotunda shots are always my favorite! Beauty exists everywhere....if we take the time to stop and see it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful building. I've been to LA however not Sacramento. I love history and would find this fascinating. Thanks for sharing with us at #WednesdaysWisdom
ReplyDeleteThose were wonderful. You sure have an eye for a great picture. Tell me I sure hope you don't live close to those California fires do you?
ReplyDeleteSo weird to see the Terminator amongst those other politicians!
ReplyDeleteLove the rotunda photo.
ReplyDeleteWe skirted Sacremento when we were in California last year, so we would miss the traffic. Looks like you had a good time. Thanks for sharing your post at the #AnythingGoes Link Party.
