San Jose has been hoppin with events in the last month. Earlier this month the College Football Playoff National Championship was played in nearby Santa Clara but all the events were held in San Jose. Last weekend, San Jose hosted the National Hockey League All-Star Game for the first time 22 years. While, I didn't go to the All-Star Game itself I did go to the Fan Fair and had a great time:
There were pucks in the park:
Have to show the trio of Hometown Sharks that made the team:
Some Mascots to be seen:
|
The Edmonton Oilers Mascot Hunter |
|
The Pittsburgh Penguins Mascot- Penguin Pete |
A NHL Hall of Famer:
|
New York Islander great Bryan Trottier |
Some other interesting things:
|
A wax likeness of "The Great One" Wayne Gretzky |
|
Someone making a fool out himself |
And there were the trophies. Hockey has the coolest awards in sports:
|
The Art Ross Trophy-given to the highest scorer in the NHL |
|
The Vezina Trophy- given to the top goalkeeper in the NHL |
And the ultimate coolest trophy in all of sports- The Stanley Cup:
San Jose did a wonderful job in hosting the NHL All-Star Weekend.
Awesome post! I loved seeing all the photos! I am a true Penguins fan in every sense of the word! Thanks for sharing!
