A Walk at the Hayward Regional Shoreline

With the realities of the Shelter in Place order here in the Bay Area and the threat of the coronavirus life has really changed. One of the things we are allowed to do is go out and walk to get some exercise.  Walking is considered "an essential outing", so I get out and have been doing at least a mile walk everyday on the different trails near my house. I have been taking precautions and such and making sure that I am at least six feet apart from others when walking. I have been lucky becasue there hasn't been many people out when I am out:

It was a nice and quiet walk along the shoreline

  1. What great photos you found on your walks. I need to get out more, and am lucky I live out in the county so no one around but the rain has been constant. Thanks for sharing at Pictorial Tuesday.

  3. Out in the wide open air. Gosh, I wish I could do that. My walkin' days are very limited do to my leg, but we do walk in the park that's right across the street from my house with our dog. Thanks for sharing my friend. Stay healthy and wash your hands and please be careful to you & yours.

  4. Hi Patrick! I’m glad you’re getting out and able to do so safely. South Africa goes on lockdown from Thursday midnight, so outings for us will be restricted to what we can do on foot from our house while avoiding others. At least the dogs are getting an extra walk in these days with the girls at home. Take care and keep safe!

  5. What a great walk with awesome scenery! Thank you for sharing all the little things that you found along the way. They are little bits of beauty that I would have photographed, too :)

I'm so happy you are a part of 'My Corner of the World' this week!

  6. Lovely photos Patrick - very calm and peaceful and much like the river walks near our place. It's always lovely seeing the birdlife that abounds near waterways.
Thanks for linking up with us at MLSTL and I've shared on my SM 😊

  9. Lovely, serene photos, Pat. I'm glad you can get out and there aren't many people around when you do. I had to take down a post on NextDoor asking people to practice social distancing at parks because there are too many idiots out there treating this like a joke. It's great that you're allowed to go outside as we are here too.

  13. The return of the shoreline of the bay to a natural (or nearly natural) state is really a human miracle. It was once so badly overbuilt and messed up!

  14. That is a lovely area to walk! We haven't been encountering many/any people on our hikes either and we aim for at least a hour a day when it's not raining (or snowing).

  18. Hi Pat, We are also still allowed to go for walks, although all the parks are closed. We live near farm area, so it still has a rural feel. Your photos are like a breath of fresh air and a great reminder how our planet still contains a great deal of beauty. #MLSTL

  19. Beautiful photos, Patrick! I am glad that you are able to get your daily walks in. We have not been out walking enough but with 4 of us walking in a group it draws nasty looks from people because we are clustered closely together as is necessary with my kids. So rather than piss people off, we have kept our physical activity limited to indoors and doing yoga and karate videos. Sometimes it’s not worth the public condemnation. Thanks for sharing your photos so I can enjoy a little bit of the outdoors.

  21. Looks like a great privilege to be able to go out and have a lovely walk in the fresh air! We are cooped up at home and it's not as good as going outdoors! Doing our bit by staying in and staying safe!

  24. I couldn't work out which end of that one water bird was its front and which was its back! LOL. Better get my glasses checked. Oh wait .. I can't ... my optometrist is closed. Damn it.
