I am back to teaching in a classroom after 13 months. Last Monday I returned to school but even though I am at the same school, we have been temporarily relocated from our middle school to a high school as we have only 5% of our student population that came back. The rest of the population decided to stay in Distance Learning.
Well, one benefit for me is the new walk to work. Instead of having Muni drop me off in front of my school, now it drops me off a couple of blocks away and I have to walk uphill to get to my school.
Another benefit is has been discovering the Sunset Reservoir. There is nothing much to see at the Reservoir but walking around it and the neighborhood is cool:
And there are positive signs around:
And there is this cool little park:
But the best thing is when the fog clears off is the amazing views of points of interest in the city and Ocean Beach and the Ocean through the neighborhood:
I love the pure blue of the ocean |
So that is my new walk to work.
That beautiful walk should set you up for the day's teaching.
ReplyDeleteHi Patrick - wow! 13 months since being in the classroom, and only 5% of the students returning so far. So different to Australia where it's business as usual. Great photos of your new daily walk and that little bit of extra exercise will be good for you too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful walk indeed!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fab walk nice views too :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a walktastic week Patrick 👍
you sure have good views on your walk
ReplyDeleteOh wow, your walk to work certainly has some amazing views. I'm not sure about the "walking uphill" part each morning, but with the ocean views, it might just be worth it! I miss ocean, after not traveling for so long...
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! The Sunset Reservoir and its surroundings are a fascinating spot.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week!
What a lovely new meander - esp those little signs.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for swinging by #Allseasons
DeleteWhat a lovely walk to work and many of these shots I'm familiar with.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're back to work. That's a good thing.
Have a fabulous day and rest of the week, Patrick. ☺
You always tak absolutely take wonderful pictures. I wish I could see the ocean for real. I hear it's absolutely awesome. Thanks for sharing my friend. Here's my new linky...https://thenewxmasdolly.wordpress.com/2021/05/05/wordless-wednesday-with-xmasdolly/
ReplyDeleteLove the little messages on the hearts, and that cute evergreen tree - reminds me of a garden gnome somehow. :-) Visiting from Wordless Wednesday
ReplyDeleteLovely scenes and views! I'm glad you can enjoy the walk. Uphill doesn't sound like fun, but it's good exercise and then it's downhill going back. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking on Amanda's Books and More!
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day, Patrick. ☺
Such a great choice to get you to work! The ocean is a fabulous sight any time of the day.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see your post at 'My Corner of the World' this week!
A nice walk!
ReplyDeleteI love that you've taken time to take photographs of your walk. Sometimes we walk the same route mindlessly and don't appreciate what's around us.
ReplyDeleteAren't those signs the best? Love your walk and your views are spectacular.
ReplyDeleteThe views are spectacular - although spectacular views normally come with steep hills!
ReplyDeleteThat's an amazing sea view! The sea is so soothing somehow, it's a privilege to be near it in your daily life.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to see the scenes on the way to work...and teaching. Back in the classroom. We have had that in Australia all this year and for the second half of last year.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for linking up for Life This Week, reading the post on Knowing by my husband Bernard and for your kind words. He tells me, despite earlier thoughts, that he would like another go at this blog thing sometime this year. Looking forward to seeing your post for Share Your Snaps (optional of course!) next Monday, 17 May 2021. Denyse
Thanks for these charners dear Patrick for #WW.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you have some pretty fantastic views on your walk to work. I feel like a good brisk walk in the morning is always such a great way to start the day, too!
