This might be a multi-blog post. I went to the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center in Santa Rosa. Schultz was the creator of the Peanuts cartoon strip, he was also know as Sparky. Even though Schultz was born and raised in Minnesota, he relocated to Northern California in 1958 and Santa Rosa became his home base in 1969 and remained until his death in 2000. The museum opened in 2002:

The Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center is a special place. I am so glad that I made the trip there and there will be a second part for more pictures.
Oh what a fun museum that must be. I want to see this someday too.

ReplyDeleteI have an outstanding speeding ticket in Santa Rosa, lol. I didn't know that about Charles Schultz but boy did I adore Peanuts as a kid. Great subject for a museum.

I have a nephew that adores Charlie Brown. It would be a fun museum to visit! He tried out for Disney, didn't make it, and started Charlie Brown after that. Maybe it's good he didn't make it into Disney. He as an artist is more known for sure.

I love Peanuts cartoons and both Snoopy and Woodstock are my two favorites among so many, Patrick. I loved looked at the photos you've posted this time around. Btw, do you know why Charles Schultz renamed his strip "Peanuts"? I'm just curious. Didn't know he had another name for the strip originally. Thanks for sharing this!

ReplyDeleteMy son and his wife lived in Santa Rosa for a bit, and my first and only trip to CA was to Santa Rosa. We wanted to visit here, but was closed on the days we visited. Looks like it would have been a fun visit. Thanks for sharing. Now I got to see it through your photography. :)
