Just me and my adventures in life. Life is an adventure and I try to have fun. I love being out in the world, taking pictures and being able to share them with people who come across my little space on the internet. Thanks for stopping by and peace be with you.
Nice selections, really liked Asia
ReplyDeleteNice choices. Head Over heels....love it.
ReplyDeletePatrick,
ReplyDeleteOnly your last two song picks I know vividly well but the others I can't say for sure having heard before today. I really enjoyed Creed's 'With Arms Wide Open'. Thanks for joining the 4M crew on the dance floor today. Have a boogietastic week!
Must say I moved my body parts to Deee-Lite. We saw the Go-Gos live several times. Gotta love Jane Weidlin. Great song selections.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I didn't think of ZZ TOP; especially since I was actually listening to Rough Boy at the time I posted!
ReplyDeleteBest thing about ZZ Top: the drummer is Frank Beard, and he ain't got one. Great set!
ReplyDeleteAwesome song choices today! I almost went with the Go-Go's but wanted to stick a little closer to the Rock genre. They felt a bit too poppy for the rest of my set. ha!
ReplyDeleteHi Patrick,
ReplyDeleteGreat set here! Just at the end of your playlist and digging on the Go-Go's. Aren't they so fun?!
I liked being introduced to a few new-to-me songs and artists. I really dug Deee-Lite's "Groove is in the Heart". Not at all familiar with that dance band from the early 90s but they give their music some serious energy. The video was cool too.
Although I know Asia and am a huge fan of their big hits (Only Time Will Tell, Heat of the Moment) "The Smile Has Left Your Eyes" is new to me. The lyric title is very powerful imagery alone but mix that together with Asia's quality music and vocals, it makes for a really good song. Thanks for turning me onto it.
I never heard of T'Pau's "China in Your Hand." I like their other hit "Heart & Soul". I wondered what the heck "China in your hand" meant so I looked it up and it's pretty cool the meaning: Per Wikipedia: "The song's lyrics refer to the novel Frankenstein and its author Mary Shelley...Lyric writer Carol Decker explained that it is the effect that if you hold a china cup to a light, you can see your hand through it – therefore 'china in your hand' means something that is transparent."
That was interesting to learn. Did you ever hear that phrase before? Apparently the song's co-writer wasn't even sure where it came from.
I'm always curious to know how bands got their names and what interesting lyrics mean.
Anyway, great body parts set here! Thanks for playing along with my theme. Have a great week,
Michele at Angels Bark
Nice set. I knew a lot of these songs, so T'Pau's song China In Your Hand took me a bit by surprise - I liked it, especially the last couple of minutes. (and I'll thank Michele for giving me the meaning of the title.) I love Asia and the Go-Go's. Brought back some memories.
ReplyDeleteGreat choices here :) Love China in your hands. Thanks for sharing at Last weeks Creative Mondays :) Hope you can join us tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteExcellent selections as usual, Patrick! Love ZZ Top and the Go-Go's! :) Thanks for the dance! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Patrick.. I'm starting to get up for little bit so I thought I'd stop by and see what's going on. Well, nothing new I see. You're still rockin' the house! hahaha I hope to be back next week if all goes well. HUGS & I MISSED YOU ALL SO MUCH!
